Services
Chimney Sweeping Power & Traditional
This is suitable for all chimneys. Even gas fires need to be swept once per year minimum. Multi fuel stoves need to be swept more frequently than this with high usage.
Even if the stove is lined we may opt to use power sweeping if the condition is quite bad. Power sweeping is £85. Traditional sweeping is £70.
CCTV Chimney Inspections
This is essential if you suspect a chimney blockage such as a bird nest. CCTV can usually diagnose most chimney issues.
We may charge for CCTV Chimney inspections £60
Birds Nest Removal
March to April is nesting season unless the nest is a severe safety issue we can not remove them during these dates.
Usually £60, (However the cost can increase depending on the size of the nest) We will discuss this before commencing any works.
Rope Seals & Glass Seals
Door rope usually needs replacing every year if the stove has had high usage. Glass seals usually last a bit longer. If the rope is frayed, cracked or has gone hard then its usually time for a new rope. If you place a piece of paper in between the door and close the door, if you can pull that paper out easily. Then this is usually a sign it could do with been replaced or adjusted. In the long run you will save money on fuel because a leaking door or glass seal works like an open vent on the stove. The fuel will burn much faster so the stove becomes less efficient.
Usually £40 – £60 Depending on size such as single door or double door. Or stove size.
Fire Brick Replacements
Fire bricks are designed to keep the stove running efficiently and they also keep excessive heat transferring to the inner steel part of the stove.
If the bricks are generic we usually carry these with us and we charge £40 for a few bricks including fitting. If the stove bricks are custom cut and shapes you will need to supply these.
Fire Cement Flue Joints
If the cement is cracked around where the flue pipe joins the stove then we would advise having it re-cemented. We charge £25 for this service.
Carbon Monoxide Alarm Supply & Fitting
We cannot stress how important carbon monoxide alarms are. These devices save lives. Please note that on the certificate of sweeping we have to tick a box which states if the property has a carbon monoxide alarm. If you do not have a carbon monoxide alarm then then it will be condemned. Carbon monoxide alarms are compulsory.
You can purchase these yourself and install it yourself or we can do it for you for a small charge of £30 including fitting.
